Global warming has been one of the major topics for the concerns of living creatures on earth. Look back human history, the discovery of fire plays a critical role in the development and the energy is the key to humanity’s world domination. Later on, another major milestone is the industrial revolutionary, which consequently leads to rapid increase in the concentration of carbon oxides for the next hundred years. Furthermore, large amount of CO2 emissions has been the most serious threat to the greenhouse effect. Many researches show that human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, cement production, and deforestation, drastically expand the natural greenhouse effect and cause global warming.
UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow is hosted by UK on 31 October – 12 November 2021 and aimed to bring all countries, joining forces with civil society, companies and people on the frontline of climate change to inspire climate action ahead. There are four goals at COP 26, secure global net zero by mid-century and keep 1.5 degrees within reach, adapt to protect communities and natural habitats, mobilize finance, and work together to deliver. Although the timeline of the agreement is set by 2030, there is not much time to waste and immediate actions must be taken towards the goals. To every one of us, the effects of climate change is not only limited to bush fire, flood, and drought anymore, but also the costs of every consumption delivered to the end users.
There have been various warning alerts about the consequences of global warming by podcasting the sea level rising as ice keeps melting and the habitat decreasing for the polar bears. This year, COP26 mentions multiple times about the carbon negative, carbon neutral, net zero, carbon footprint, and so on. The global warming is such a big topic and those terms may not be easily understood. For the sake of generations to come, we, PROK CO LTD, like most other business units regardless the size in the world believe every decision and action today will matter to what future is like as for sustainability.
Each one of us could save our lovely planet by switching off the power while not in use, recycle & reuse while you can, reduce possible wastes, and shorten the carbon footprint as much as possible.
Let’s go greener!
